If you are formally admitted to medical school, you have quite a few options on getting money and financial aid. If you are not admitted yet, you still can be looking into how you are going to finance medical school.

First, your medical school's financial aid office is the first stop. They will probably be able to offer you all sorts of options. Lenders love medical students, as they have high earning potential, are the top students, and assume they have ambition.

A good government program for medical school students, is the National Health Service Corps. For agreeing to work at an NHSC approved health site that has a shortage for 2 to 4 years, you can get tuition, fees, and other costs paid for. If you are currently in school, they will also give you a stipend. If you have graduated, for 2 years of service in the same areas, you can get $50,000 of student loans paid off.

If you come from a disadvantaged background, you may be eligible for a scholarship to medical school. Check out the disadvantaged medical school disadvantaged student scholarships here. You need to apply through your medical school's financial aid office.

Health Professions Student Loans are another way of financing medical school. This provides a long term loan with a low interest rate, also for lower income students in medical school. You apply for this loan at your school's financial aid office.

Primary Care Loans provide long-term, low interest rate loans to full-time, financially needy students to pursue a degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine.
